It brings together all aspects of the environment, farming and food production, and is a focal point for all rural policy relating to people, the economy and the environment. Defra's work has a strong international dimension, with roles in both European Union and global policy making.
It is increasingly important for up to date and well practised business continuity plans to be in place.
