Garrison sponsors benchmarking study
The University of Liverpool Management School has established a project concerned with “Benchmarking Best Practice in Business Continuity Management”. Unlike previous benchmarking efforts, this study will focus on working with business continuity professionals to collect qualitative data and to use this detail to develop rich insights into business continuity processes.
Garrison Continuity has agreed to support this project through the provision of an experienced business continuity consultant to sit on the project steering group and has also made a financial commitment to support the study for the next three years.
The study, which is being led by Dr Dominic Elliott - Professor of Business Continuity and Strategic Management, is grounded in existing research into the ways organisations learn from crisis as well as identifying barriers to implementing change. Importantly, the study will seek to collect in-depth information from a discrete number of organisations across the public and private sectors, rather than conduct a large-scale quantitative survey.
Data collection will begin in April 2007 and an interim report is due for publication in June 2008.
